Description: A shrub from the Polygonaceae family

A large and stable plant, with a thick and branched rhizome with a yellow inner surface, heart-shaped leaves 50 cm long and 20 cm wide, small, green to yellow flowers with dense, spreading clusters, grows in Iran in the western regions of Iran at high altitudes

Parts used: Whole plant (leaves, roots, seeds)

Temperament: Cold and dry

Effective ingredients: acids (tartaric, tannic, chrysophanic, ascorbic), potassium oxalate, anthraquinone, quercetin, hypertrine, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, fats and starches, calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, as well as some anthraquinone compounds (rumicin) and glucoside compounds are present in the root

Properties and usage:

Oral: Brew one tablespoon and drink 2 to 3 cups a day: Lowers blood fat, lowers blood pressure, cools, relieves internal inflammation, reduces weight, relieves skin itching, purifies blood, anti-scurvy, blood thinner, relieves mouth fatigue, anti-hiccup, anti-nausea, anti-jaundice, choleretic, strengthens the digestive system, diuretic, removes kidney stones, relieves drunkenness and hangover

Poultice of cooked leaves with iron filings: Anti-hemorrhoids, anti-spleen swelling (with vinegar), relieves skin itching

Edible seeds: Strengthens the heart, anti-ulcers of the intestine
